MISSION: Christian Education (CE) helps the church develop an understanding of its goal and purpose which in turn determines and controls its policies. The CE Director helps with curriculum– the educational plan of the church – the training of leadership, the development and encouragement of an educational approach for the total life of the congregation.

BACKGROUND: It is important that Christian education as a profession be considered fundamentally as a ministry. If not so conceived, little progress will ever be made toward defining or redefining the vocation as a distinct calling within the history and tradition of the church. The Minister of Education, serving as a trained professional staff member of a church, is a minister, and the work of Christian education in the church is a ministry to perform. This minister is also an educator.
